More than half of respondents in JHL’s survey have experienced inappropriate treatment at their workplace – all survey results will be published in November

29.10.2025

Trade Union JHL has commissioned a survey to find out how discrimination manifests at JHL members’ workplaces. More than 2,000 members responded to the survey, and the findings will be presented in a publication event on Tuesday 25 November.

More than half of JHL members answered that they have encountered inappropriate treatment in working life. This piece of information comes from a survey that research company AULA Research has conducted together with the experts of Trade Union JHL.

The survey investigated how discrimination and unfair and inappropriate treatment manifest at JHL members’ workplaces and in working life in general. More than 2,200 JHL members, who represented different occupational sectors, responded to the survey.

Many respondents have also experienced discrimination at their workplace. A clear majority of those who had experienced discrimination had not received help with the situation at their workplace.

More detailed survey results will be published on Tuesday 25 November. The publication event, which is in Finnish, will be streamed live. The event begins at 9.30 am and ends at 11.30 am.

Register by 16 November to watch the live stream

In this event we will also present Trade Union JHL’s latest future trends report. The report is a deep dive into discrimination and equality in JHL’s occupational sectors.

The new report is part of JHL’s multi-year work on future trends.

Our earlier future trends reports deal with the climate change, demographic developments, digitalisation and regional development.
