Justice for cleaners 15 June – time for them to step into the limelight!

10.6.2022

Tuesday 15 June is international cleaners’ rights day, which is when trade union actives around the world campaign for appreciation for the cleaning sector. We will then throw a big event on Narinkka Square in Helsinki.

Join us on 15 June at 3 pm. In the event, we promote the visibility of cleaning as a trade and show appreciation to this irreplaceable work.

There will be a lot of fun and useful information and programme activities related to the cleaning sector. For instance, come and test how fast you can make a bed decently, and learn how quickly and outstandingly a professional cleaner has to make a bed. You may be in for a surprise.

Would you be able to do the same?

JHL and Service Union United PAM are together organising the event to which we welcome both professionals of the sector and those interested in cleaning work and cleaners’ rights.

Visit JHL’s tent to say hi to the people of your union and to talk about the cleaning sector. While you’re there, we’ll tell you about a tasty way to thank a cleaner that you appreciate.

Justice for Janitors/Justice for Cleaners is a movement that originated in the USA. Its aim is to improve the working conditions and pay of those working in the cleaning sector. The movement strongly supports cleaners’ unionisation and the fight for proper pay.
