JHL serves in trade union matters throughout the summer

10.6.2026

If you need your trade union’s support, we are here to help you throughout the summer. Note that the English Membership Service has a summer break after Midsummer, but service is still available in Finnish. JHL is also a trade union for summer workers.

JHL serves its members throughout the summer. If any union-related matters come up during the summer, you don’t have to wait. Our Membership Service and Employment Advice are open at the usual service hours. Some of our other services, including the Membership Service in English, have short summer breaks.

The telephone service of JHL’s Membership Service is available Mon–Thu from 9 am to 12 noon in Finnish on 010 7703 430. Contact the Membership Service if you have questions about things like the membership, membership fees or the membership card.

The telephone service of JHL’s Employment Advice is available Mon–Thu from 9 am to 12 noon on 010 7703 311. This telephone service answers questions that concern terms and conditions of employment. It is mainly intended for shop stewards and occupational safety and health representatives.

Our digital membership service myJHL is available anytime, anywhere – no matter whether you are in the break room of your workplace or on a cottage patio.

Part of JHL’s services have a summer break that starts at Midsummer

The following services are closed from 20 June to 27 July 2025:

  • JHL’s switchboard
  • The central office reception is closed from 19 June to 2 August (the reception closes at 12 noon on Thursday 18 June).
  • The regional offices and their telephone services
  • The telephone and e-mail services of Education Advice are closed from 23 June to 2 August.
  • The telephone service of Payment Service for employers
  • Membership service in English
  • Membership service in Swedish

The unemployment fund has normal service hours all summer

The JHL Unemployment Fund’s telephone service on 010 190 300 has the same opening hours as usual. You can call the number from Monday to Thursday, from 9 am to 12 noon.

The unemployment fund’s chat is open from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 2 pm.

You can get personal service in the unemployment fund’s telephone service and in the Ewertti eService chat. Use the Messages section of the Ewertti service to send a message to the unemployment fund any time of the day.

JHL is also a trade union for summer workers

Our summer jobs page offers useful information for summer workers.

The Summer Job Helpline gives advice for all summer workers. If you have questions about something in your summer job, don’t be afraid to ask.
