Kilometre allowance will decrease by 4 cents and domestic per diem will increase next year

11.11.2025

The Finnish Tax Administration has confirmed the tax-exempt allowances for travel expenses in 2026.

The Finnish Tax Administration has decided the maximum amounts of tax-exempt allowances for travel expenses in 2026. Some of the amounts will increase, and some will decrease.

Kilometre allowance will decrease by 4 cents, and it will be 55 cents per kilometre next year.

The most significant reasons for reducing the kilometre allowance were the decrease of consumer credit interest rates, average fuel prices and average prices of the most sold cars.

Per diem allowance for domestic travel will increase by one euro, and it will be €54 next year. This allowance was increased because of the rise of fast food and take-away meal prices.

Partial per diem will also increase by one euro to €25 next year.

Move information about the tax-exempt allowances in 2026 is available on the website of the Finnish Tax Administration.
