The first collective agreements for KT’s company sector

In future, the collective agreement for a workplace in the company sector of Local Government and County Employers KT depends on the company’s main line of business. Social welfare and health care sector and staff leasing have their own collective agreements.

The first collective agreements for the company sector of Local Government and County Employers KT have been concluded. At the same time, the collective agreement for Avainta, AVAINTES, is left in the past. This is a major change for publicly owned companies.

The collective agreement of a workplace now depends on the company’s main line of business.

Social welfare and health care sector and staff leasing have their own collective agreements. Other sectors follow the general collective agreement for the company sector of KT (YTES). There is also an agreement that contains terms and conditions for teaching staff, called OTES.

JHL’s shop stewards continue in their duties regardless of the transition to a new collective agreement. In the new agreements the new Finnish term for shop steward is “luottamusedustaja”.

These agreements apply to members of KT’s company sector

Social welfare and health care sector employers follow agreements that have been agreed for wellbeing services counties: the general collective agreement for the welfare sector HYVTES, the collective agreement for health and social services personnel (SOTE agreement) and the collective agreement for physicians (LS). These apply in the same way as in the rest of the public sector.

These agreements are made between JAU (JHL and Jyty), Sote ry and the employers’ organisation KT, except for the collective agreement for physicians, which is made between KT and JUKO.

If a company operates in some other sector than social welfare and health care services or staff leasing, it follows the general collective agreement for KT’s company sector (YTES). The content of YTES is very similar to the earlier AVAINTES agreement.

The YTES collective agreement covers for example facility, catering and cleaning service companies and ICT and financial administration service companies.

Hourly paid employees remain under the collective agreement for hourly paid personnel in the municipal sector.

The YTES agreement is made between JAU, JUKO and KT.

There is also an agreement for teaching staff in the company sector, called OTES. This agreement is made between KT and JUKO.

Staff leasing companies are going to get their own agreement VUOKRATES. This collective agreement comes into force on 1 January 2026, and it was made between KT, JAU, JUKO and SOTE.

Your trade union JHL negotiates on a number of collective agreements in 2025. Follow the negotiations on our website.
