The collective agreement for the private social services sector is negotiated intensively towards the end of the year
Negotiations on the new collective agreement for the private social services sector go on for the remainder of the year. The goal is to have the new agreement settled before the agreement period ends and to secure that the new agreement becomes effective at the beginning of 2026.
A termination notice of the current collective agreement has been given, and the agreement comes to an end at the end of this year. However, the terms and conditions of the agreement continue to apply to this sector based on continuing effect, until a new collective agreement becomes effective.
JHL’s goal is still to reach a solution together through negotiations and to have a new agreement from 1 January 2026. Negotiation times have been scheduled until the end of the year, and as the turn of the year approaches, the negotiators meet increasingly often.
The atmosphere in the negotiations has been good and constructive. So far, the negotiations have dealt with the agreement texts, and pay questions have not been discussed yet. JHL has proposed improvements to agreement provisions in line with its negotiation goals. You can read more about the underlying goals in this blog text that was published before the negotiations.
Employees are represented in this agreement by Trade Union JHL, health and social services sector’s negotiation organisation Sote, Talentia Union of Professional Social Workers, and social services sector alliance Salli. Employers are represented by the Finnish Association of Private Care Providers (Hali).
There are thousands of workplaces that produce services of this sector in Finland. Employees of this sector work for example in assisted living and nursing homes, housing services for people with disabilities, mother-and-child homes, shelters, substance abuse services, child protection, and as personal assistants.
