JHL members can apply for a campaign contribution from their trade union

30.12.2024

The county and municipal elections next spring determine how your local services will be organised in the future. Stand as a candidate and save services. You can apply for a contribution to your campaign from your trade union JHL.

In the county and municipal elections in spring 2025 you and other voters decide what kind of care the elderly receive and whether there are enough employees in early childhood education and care.

It is important that there are candidates in these elections who value employees and public services. You can stand for election and help find alternatives for endless spending cuts.

County and municipal elections 2025 – Save services

Apply for a campaign contribution by 31 March 2025

JHL members who stand for election can apply for a campaign contribution from their trade union.

In order to be eligible for JHL’s campaign contribution you need to commit to JHL’s principles.

JHL’s campaign contribution principles

  • Society must guarantee its every member fair opportunities to build their own lives.
  • Every person is treated equally, and nobody is discriminated against for their religion, opinion, gender, sexuality, or colour.
  • Education, care, social security and health care are fundamental rights and must be available based on need, not on ability to pay or status in society.
  • The candidate supports employees’ right to have a say in matters that concern their work, as well as the culture of collective bargaining.

The contribution is meant for the candidate’s personal campaign work. We start paying the campaign contributions in January 2025.

Apply for a contribution with an online form (in Finnish or Swedish) by 31 March 2025.

You can also get your advertisement to Motiivi magazine at a special price.

How much money you can get for your campaign from JHL:

  • 500 euros if you are a candidate in just one election
  • 750 euros if you are a candidate in Helsinki; Helsinki does not have a county election
  • 1000 euros if you are a candidate in both county and municipal elections

The campaign contribution is for JHL members only. If you are not a member yet, join us now.
