JHL negotiates about your pay and helps in your workplace
You can join JHL already during your studies, even if you do not work yet.
The membership of Trade Union JHL is free for full-time students. So it costs you zero euros!
We negotiate the collective agreements for numerous sectors. These agreements determine for example pay and annual holidays. We know the terms and conditions of employment for our sectors and help if there are problems in the shift roster, flaws in the pay slip or oddities in the employment contract. The first point of contact for help in your workplace is JHL’s shop steward or chief shop steward.

New friends, opportunities to influence and youth-only events!
We offer our young union members opportunities to influence and make new friends! You can for example become a school agent who visits schools and tells about working life and the trade union.
If you want, you can also participate your sector’s occupational sector forum, where you will meet other professionals of your field.
JHL’s Nuorisofoorumi (Youth Forum) is our young members’ own channel for influencing in our trade union. It has 20 forum members, who are appointed for two years at a time. Follow JHL’s social media channels for youth and students for news including open positions in Nuorisofoorumi.
Free training only for members in our own JHL Institute!
JHL members can benefit from a wide range of courses, usually for free. We take care of travel expenses, offer the meals and pay for accommodation!
