JHL’s travel insurance card is going to be available only in TaskuTurva app

2.12.2024

Two people in a domestic setting looking at a smartphone and text "Download TaskuTurva app to your phone!"

From the beginning of the year 2025, JHL’s travel insurance card is going to be available only in TaskuTurva app. However, you can also get a travel insurance certificate from Turva’s online service or customer service if needed.

From 1 January 2025 onwards, when JHL’s plastic membership card gets replaced with a mobile card, JHL’s travel insurance card will be available only in our insurance partner Turva’s app TaskuTurva (only in Finnish). The travel insurance card cannot be viewed in JHL’s mobile membership card.

Note also that JHL’s certificate of membership is not a travel insurance certificate. It is only a document that you can use instead of the membership card to prove your trade union membership.

What are the advantages of TaskuTurva?

Besides your travel insurance card, Turva’s free TaskuTurva app contains several other useful features, such as your member insurance information, instructions for the most usual accidents, and search for the nearest doctor when you travel abroad.

If you have personal insurance policies at Turva, you can easily view also those in TaskuTurva. See turva.fi/jhlenglish for more information.

If you do not have a smartphone, you can print a travel insurance certificate from Turva’s web service (in Finnish, see turva.fi/jhlenglish for instructions) or order it from Turva’s Finnish website.

Change in traveller insurance starting from 1 January 2025

Under 70 years old JHL members continue to be insured with a traveller insurance for leisure travel. From 1 January 2025 onwards the insurance will also cover the member’s children and grandchildren who are under 18 years old and travel with the member. Before the change, coverage for children travelling with the member has ended at the age of 15.

The insurance is valid for non-occupational trips in Finland and abroad for a maximum of 45 days from the start of the trip. The insurance covers for example treatment expenses of an illness or injury that begins or occurs during the trip with no upper limit on the euro amount. Learn more about your member insurance at turva.fi/jhlenglish.

Download TaskuTurva! You could win a Samsung Galaxy S23 phone!

You can already download the TaskuTurva app to you phone and view the JHL travel insurance card in the app – there is no reason to wait until next year. We organise a prize draw for JHL members who download the TaskuTurva app by 20 December 2024, and one lucky winner gets a Samsung Galaxy S23 phone! The value of the prize is €549.

To participate in the prize draw and see your insurance coverage and membership benefits in TaskuTurva, you need to authenticate with online banking codes or Mobile certificate and confirm your trade union membership when you sign in to the app for the first time. Learn more at turva.fi/jhlenglish.
