Get advice from the Summer Job Helpline – you can even send your questions on WhatsApp

The Summer Job Helpline is a free service that advises summer workers throughout the summer, from before signing the employment contract all the way to the end of the employment.

You can contact the service if you want to ask about something that concerns your job: for example your pay, work shifts, holiday compensations or onboarding.

When you have a day off or a free weekend, you can use JHL’s membership benefits and get festival tickets at a special price or stay at one of our affordable holiday locations.

You can also save money on a mini getaway with our discounts on cruises and hotel nights.

On your commute you can listen to an audio book for free or practice your Finnish by reading JHL’s member magazine Motiivi.

Should a summer worker join the trade union?

Trade union membership is important for all employees, including summer workers and students. Part of JHL’s work as a trade union is to negotiate about your terms and conditions of employment – for example how much you get paid in your summer job.

We are the largest trade union of the welfare sectors and the most diverse trade union in Finland. This makes us quite probably the right trade union for you, too.
