JHL Institute
JHL Institute offers a wide range of training for our trade union members. It’s a folk high school run by a private foundation Raseborg-säätiö.

JHL Institute is situated in Helsinki and operates in its own modern leased facilities in the same building with JHL’s central office. The building also houses restaurant Hiidenkivi that caters the meals for the participants during the courses. Accommodation for course participants who stay in Helsinki overnight is available nearby in Scandic hotels in Hakaniemi.
Management and governance of JHL Institute
The highest decision-making body of JHL Institute is the board of the Raseborg foundation. The President of the foundation is Saila Ruuth, and the CEO of the foundation is Ari-Pekka Lundén. The core task of the institute is to provide training for members of Trade Union JHL.

JHL Institute’s training function
JHL Institute organises humanities- and society-related courses for people working in the public and welfare sectors and for other trade union learners. The courses deal for example with wellbeing at work, cooperation skills for working life and equality.
Special training function
Part of JHL Institute’s training function is to provide training that promotes active citizenship and better working life.
