Negotiations on a new collective agreement for the technical sector are progressing
Representatives of the employers and the employees negotiate on a new collective agreement for technical staff in municipalities. The new agreement is due to replace two collective agreements that are currently applied in municipalities.
Negotiations on a new collective agreement for municipal technical staff (TATES) progress on schedule.
A collective agreement on preparation of the TATES agreement was part of the agreement solution for the years 2025–2028.
The agreement is negotiated between Local Government and County Employers KT and the principal negotiating organisations the Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals JUKO and Public Sector Union JAU. JAU is a negotiation organisation formed by trade unions JHL and JYTY. The parties set a target that a so-called agreement framework for the TATES agreement should be agreed by the end of January 2026.
The parties have negotiated on the TATES agreement framework, and it will be completed at the same time with the overall agreement.
Negotiations on the agreement framework and on a level pay system for the new agreement continue. The next target is that simulation provisions of the level pay system are agreed by the end of March 2026.
When the TATES agreement becomes effective, it will replace two earlier collective agreements: the collective agreement for technical personnel in the municipal sector (TS) and the collective agreement for hourly paid personnel in the municipal sector (TTES).
