JHL member, have you been invited to the President’s Independence Day Reception? JHL will help you with the costs

Trade Union JHL supports financially members who have been invited to the Independence Day Reception in the Presidential Palace. Members can get support for the costs of formal wear, hairdresser, barber and make-up. Contact us for further instructions.

The Independence Day Reception of the President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb and his spouse Suzanne Innes-Stubb will be held on 6 December 2025. This year’s reception will celebrate the role of education and learning as cornerstones of Finnish society. About 1700 guests from around Finland have been invited to the reception. Half of the guests are invited for the first time.

An invitation to the Independence Day Reception in the Presidential Palace is a great honour. Trade Union JHL is grateful and proud for every invited member.

We want that all our members who attend the reception can fully enjoy the special day without extra stress for its costs. Therefore, we offer members who attend the reception financial support for the costs of formal wear, hairdo and make-up.

Have you been invited to the Independence Day Reception? Let us know by sending an e-mail to kristiina.ahonen@jhl.fi by 28 November 2025. You will get more detailed instructions for receiving the financial support in the reply message. 

Please note that Members of Parliament or the Government and other regular guests who are invited to the reception every year are not eligible for this financial support.
