JHL’s strike warnings for the private social services sector continue to apply – JHL had no opportunity to sign the negotiation result

27.2.2026

Trade Union JHL’s Union Council has discussed the situation in the private social services sector late on Friday evening. JHL did not have an opportunity to sign the negotiation result that was reached earlier on the same day, and JHL’s strike warnings for next week and the week after that continue to apply.

The Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL continues its actions for the terms and conditions of employment of its members who work in the private social services sector.

JHL is not included in the negotiation result that was announced earlier on Friday, and JHL’s strike warnings for 3–5 March 2026 and 10–12 March 2026 continue to apply.

“JHL did not have an opportunity to sign the negotiation result that was reached today. Therefore, the threat of the strikes that were announced earlier still exists”, stresses the President of JHL Håkan Ekström.

The strikes that JHL has announced cover the work in the private social services sector in all member companies of the Finnish Association of Private Care Providers (HALI) (in Finnish).

The collective agreement for the private social services sector has been negotiated since November last year. The National Conciliator began mediating the dispute at the end of January. This collective agreement is applied for example in private assisted living facilities for the elderly and for people with disabilities, nursing homes, mother-and-child homes, shelters, private child welfare institutions, personal assistance, and home help services.
