Let’s thank catering sector professionals – enter your candidate for a pampering gift campaign!

12.5.2026

The purpose of the pampering gift campaign is to thank distinguished individuals, teams and work communities in the catering sector.

26 May 2025 is the national Thank a Catering Sector Professional Day. The purpose of the day is to bring attention to the valuable work of catering sector professionals and thank them for their role in smooth running of daily life and work, their solid professional competence, and their important contribution to society.

The day is organised by Trade Union JHL.

“Catering sector professionals seldom receive the recognition they deserve, even though it’s thanks to them that for example students at schools and patients in hospitals have healthy, safe and tasty food”, says JHL’s Specialist in Occupation-Specific Activities Virpi Matikainen.

The day furthermore aims to strengthen the sense of community within the sector and positive impressions about it.

JHL announces a Suggest a recipient for a pampering gift campaign as part of the day’s celebrations. The purpose of the campaign is to thank individuals, teams and work communities in the catering sector in a concrete way.

Last year’s campaign generated a lot of excitement: JHL received as many as 114 applications for thanking catering sector professionals. This year JHL wants to continue the good campaign tradition.

You can enter an individual professional, team or workplace community in the catering sector for the campaign.

People who are entered into the campaign need to be JHL members in order to be eligible. Explain carefully why the professional, team or workplace community that you enter for the campaign deserves special thanks.
