JHL makes this Christmas donations to SASK and the children of Ukraine
Our Christmas donations this year go to two organisations that receive 5,000 euros each.
Trade Union JHL has decided to donate this year 5,000 euros each to the Trade Union Solidarity Centre of Finland (SASK) and to Ukrainian charitable foundation Voices of Children.
SASK is a partner organisation of JHL, and its mission is to ensure working life human rights for all workers. We donate the money to SASK’s Reilua joulua Christmas campaign (link in Finnish).
JHL has worked successfully with SASK to promote human rights in working life in different parts of the world. For example, JHL and SAKS have supported Community Health Workers in Nepal (link in Finnish).
The Finnish Government decided unexpectedly to significantly cut SASK’s funding (link in Finnish). This decision is detrimental for working life human rights.
Voices of Children provides psychological support
Our other donation receiver is Ukrainian foundation Voices of Children. The foundation has been helping Ukrainian children for about a decade.
Voices of Children offers comprehensive psychological support to children living through war. The foundation has centres around Ukraine.
The centres offer a safe environment for children, as well as a broad selection of support services for both parents and children. The foundation provides for example psychological consultation, group and individual therapy sessions, workshops, and art therapy.
One of the key areas of work for Voices of Children is advocacy. The foundation works to represent and protect the interests of Ukrainian children in their country and worldwide.
