28.2.2022Period without agreement to begin in many of JHL’s agreement sectors on 1 March – What does it mean?
In many of JHL’s agreement sectors, the agreement period will come to an end on 28 February. A so-called period without agreement will begin on 1 March in, say, the municipal sector, the Finnish state, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, and in the railway sector. Note that this will not lead to a “Wild West” in terms and conditions of employment.
Trade Union JHL has terminated its cooperation agreement with the company Teboil. Teboil is a subsidiary company of Lukoil, a Russian oil company. Ending the cooperation is a protest to Russia’s military actions in Ukraine.

In the elections this February, 120 members will be elected to JHL’s Union Council. The group of candidates represents great diversity, just like JHL's members! Remember to cast your vote, voting will start on 7 February.
There will be a usage interruption in the union’s electronic services on Tuesday 25 January. The interruption will start at 3.30 pm and last the rest of the day.
The actual polling day of Finland’s first county elections is next Sunday, 23 January. You will then have the last chance to make an impact on where you and your loved ones will get health and social services, how far away the nearest fire brigade is located, and what kinds of workplaces the upcoming wellbeing services counties will be.

SAK’s county elections gallery is now open. Those members of JHL who are county elections candidates can submit their information to the gallery and state their views in their candidate card. The gallery gives candidates a possibility to increase their visibility, say, in social media. The county elections gallery is free to candidates.
Members of Trade Union JHL who have ordered the 2022–2024 plastic membership card will receive it with the Motiivi magazine issue that comes out in November. In case a member has also ordered the pocket calendar, it will be sent along with the other items.

It is also not possible to join JHL electronically. Our telephone services are closed until further notice. According to software provider Futunio, the problem does not only concern JHL’s services. For months, the management of Helsinki City Transport (HKL) completely misled its employees in terms of what it means in practice to turn a municipal enterprise (part of the City of Helsinki) into a company. During the cooperation negotiations, no information was given on the fact that all the metro transport operations will in practice be left outside the company.
