On Monday 27 June, Trade Union JHL's Union Council approved the negotiation result concerning the private social services sector’s new terms and conditions of employment. The ban on overtime and shift swaps will end on Tuesday 28 June 2022 at 12.01 am.
This summer, Trade Union JHL is again participating in 4H organisation's Taimiteko – Seedling Action together with central organisation SAK’s member unions. The Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL is declaring a ban on overtime and shift swaps for the private social services sector. The ban will start on Tuesday 21 June 2022, it will be in place until further notice. With the ban, JHL wishes to speed up the stuck collective agreement negotiations.

Lately, there have been disruptions in City of Helsinki’s salary payments. As a result, there have been long delays of up to several weeks in payment transactions. President of the Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL, Päivi Niemi-Laine, feels that the situation is unreasonable and encourages the city to comply with statutory employer obligations immediately.
In the wake of the municipal sector’s agreement, the negotiations on Avainta’s collective agreement AVAINTES are now complete. The agreement includes, say, pay raises for the first two years, the changes required by the family leave reform, and a long-awaited change to annual holiday tables as line B is removed from use. A few days ago, Trade Union JHL’s Union Council approved a strategy that will steer the union’s operations during the coming years. Our central goal is to improve our members’ livelihood, terms and conditions of employment, and position in the labour market. JHL wants to be the most effective, caring and strong trade union.
Tuesday 15 June is international cleaners’ rights day, which is when trade union actives around the world campaign for appreciation for the cleaning sector. We will then throw a big event on Narinkka Square in Helsinki.
9.6.2022New terms and conditions of employment for municipal sector have been confirmed – first pay raises already in June
On 8 June, Trade Union JHL’s approval confirmed the municipal sector’s terms and conditions of employment for 2022−2025. The terms and conditions of employment approved by JHL, Jyty, Juko and Local Government and County Employers KT apply to all municipal collective agreements, including the health and social services sector agreement (SOTE).
Trade unions JHL and Jyty, JUKO and KT have reached a negotiation result for the municipal sector on 6 June.
Both agreement parties – employee party JHL and employer party Heta (Union of the Employers of Personal Assistants in Finland) have in their executive bodies approved the new one-year collective agreement. The pay raises will be paid on 1 August 2022.

On Wednesday 11 May, the Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals (JUKO) terminated the main municipal agreement. The agreement’s period of notice of termination is six months. During this period, the main agreement is complied with and applied in its entirety. The rules apply to all agreement parties.
