A usage interruption in JHL's electronic services will start on Friday 23 June at 9 pm. The interruption will last until around 10 pm. The following services will then be out of use: myJHL, myCourses, omaYhdistys, pages for members and active members at jhl.fi, and the electronic membership form.

For months now, the City of Helsinki has had problems with salary payment. However, there are still no solutions, and nobody is taking responsibility. The due date for solutions and paying compensation for the damages incurred is now, as trade unions OAJ and JHL will remind in their demonstration today.

17.8.2022Great benefit for Trade Union JHL members available at Neste service stations: Members get discount on petrol and diesel
JHL members fill up the tank more affordably. Members get a discount of 2.1 cent for each litre of petrol or diesel paid for with the Neste app. The discount applies to Neste service stations.
Trade Union JHL is happy with the new municipal collective agreement and five-year pay regime that were achieved last June. An agreement has also been reached on the health and social services sector agreement. A five-year pay regime is also a part of that entirety. During this autumn, the agreement parties will negotiate on targeting the first arrangement instalment exceeding the general line.

1.8.2022OAJ and JHL: Helsinki must immediately hire more payroll administrators to fix the massive salary payment mess, and pay for the damages
The Trade Union of Education in Finland OAJ and Trade Union JHL are demanding the City of Helsinki to fix its salary payment problems and to immediately hire more payroll administrators to solve the salary mess which has lasted for months. In addition to late-payment interests, the employees and office-holders must be paid compensation for the damages incurred.
Trade Union JHL is at your service also during summer holidays. The telephone services of Membership Service and Employment Advice are open from Monday to Friday before noon. Also the Public and Welfare Sectors’ Unemployment Fund will be open the whole summer.
Lately, there have been disruptions in City of Helsinki’s salary payments. As a result, there have been long delays of up to several weeks in payment transactions. President of the Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL, Päivi Niemi-Laine, feels that the situation is unreasonable and encourages the city to comply with statutory employer obligations immediately.

9.6.2022New terms and conditions of employment for municipal sector have been confirmed – first pay raises already in June
On 8 June, Trade Union JHL’s approval confirmed the municipal sector’s terms and conditions of employment for 2022−2025. The terms and conditions of employment approved by JHL, Jyty, Juko and Local Government and County Employers KT apply to all municipal collective agreements, including the health and social services sector agreement (SOTE).
Trade unions JHL and Jyty, JUKO and KT have reached a negotiation result for the municipal sector on 6 June.

10.5.2022Recent survey: Significant change in Finnish people’s attitudes towards immigrants – two out of three want more labour immigrants
According to a recent survey by Trade Union JHL, Finnish people have an even more tolerant attitude towards labour immigration if the immigrants’ terms and conditions of employment are like those of Finnish people. Two out of three respondents (67%) are of the opinion that Finland needs more labour immigrants. Kantar-TNS conducted the survey by commission of JHL, over 1,000 people replied to it.
Ever since a conciliation board was established to solve the municipal sector's labour dispute, it has been expected to give a conciliation proposal quickly. However, a proposal has not been given, and there is little to suggest that such a proposal will be given during the coming days either. What has happened thus far and what is about to happen?
The results of JHL’s elections have now been confirmed. The new Union Council will start its five-year term of office in June.
14.4.2022Historically extensive strike warning for municipal sector: If no agreement is reached, ten cities will go on strike at the beginning of May
Trade Union JHL, Trade Union Jyty and Juko have filed a one-week strike warning for 3-9 May. The strike applies to ten cities. If no agreement is reached in the municipal sector’s labour dispute, the strike will begin.

Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL, Trade Union Jyty and JUKO are declaring a ban on overtime and shift swaps for the municipal sector, in force until further notice, as of 18 April.
On Monday 4 April at 12 pm, trade unions JHL, OAJ and Jyty filed a strike warning concerning the private teaching sector with the National Conciliator and Finnish Education Employers. The strike will begin on 19 April, and it will last one week in 15 private schools in Helsinki, unless an agreement is reached before that.
