A fun and easy way to get to know people from your sector

The star professionals of the information, administration, library and culture sector have their own online discussion and meeting forum. This online platform makes it easy and fast to be in touch with others who work in the same sector.

The forum brings experts of each sector together to the important task of further developing occupations and work.  On our forums, people look at the future of work together with their colleagues, as well as ponder how to make today’s working life as good as possible.

Occupational-sector forums are also a channel where your trade union JHL can conveniently learn about hot topics that our members discuss at their workplaces. JHL is actively involved in occupational advocacy of the information, administration, library and culture sector.  When it comes for instance to legislative and development projects connected to education and training, it is important that the policies and goals correspond to our members’ interests. The forums enable people get their voice heard in the occupational context.

The forums operate in an informal and flexible manner: You can take part when you have interest and whenever it suits you.

The themes and conversation topics are flexible and varied: You can discuss the joys or challenges of your work, ask for peer support, share your experiences or, say, ask for tips on how things are done elsewhere. It’s also OK to just follow the conversations on the page.

Participation doesn not require earlier experience of union activities. The only requirement is that you are interested in further developing your work!

If you want to ask about the forums or other occupation-specific activities, you can send e-mail to amky@jhl.fi.
