On Wednesday 11 May, the Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals (JUKO) terminated the main municipal agreement. The agreement’s period of notice of termination is six months. During this period, the main agreement is complied with and applied in its entirety. The rules apply to all agreement parties.

Trade Union JHL, Trade Union Jyty and Juko have filed a one-week strike warning for 3-9 May. The strike applies to ten cities. If no agreement is reached in the municipal sector’s labour dispute, the strike will begin.
By request of the National Conciliator, Minister of Employment Tuula Haatainen has postponed the Helsinki Metropolitan Region strike declared by JUKO and JAU (JHL and Jyty) by two weeks. The new period for the strike concerning the cities of Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo and Kauniainen is 3-9 May, unless a solution is found in the municipal sector’s labour dispute before that.
Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL, Trade Union Jyty and JUKO are declaring a ban on overtime and shift swaps for the municipal sector, in force until further notice, as of 18 April.
On Monday 4 April at 12 pm, trade unions JHL, OAJ and Jyty filed a strike warning concerning the private teaching sector with the National Conciliator and Finnish Education Employers. The strike will begin on 19 April, and it will last one week in 15 private schools in Helsinki, unless an agreement is reached before that.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland has established a conciliation board to solve the municipal sector’s labour dispute. National Conciliator Vuokko Piekkala proposed the establishment of the board.
Trade Union JHL has received an encouraging message of solidarity from the European Federation EPSU. The message offers encouragement for continuing the industrial actions in order to achieve pay raises in the municipal sector.
In the rail sector, a general raise will be paid to all employees in June 2022. The agreement, say, specifies definitions of working hours and the right to postpone one’s annual holiday.
