JHL’s bargaining activities

Issues such as

  • the minimum pay workers should receive for their work
  • working hours
  • the entitlement to annual leave and sick leave and
  • employment security

are all set in the agreements. JHL concludes collective agreements for the public and private welfare sectors.

Occupational safety and well-being

at work are an important part of JHL’s representational activities. Matters related to occupational safety and health, and co-operation in these questions, are prescribed by law. In addition, JHL is involved in drafting and concluding sectoral agreements and recommendations together with the employer organisations. JHL works actively to influence both statutory and agreement-based occupational safety measures.

Co-operation or joint consultation

between employees and employers is based on the Act on Co-operation within Undertakings and/or a joint consultation agreement between the employer side and JHL, depending on the industry. Issues discussed concern the operations, development and rearrangement of the workplace, and the position of personnel.
