Employment issues ā€“ help at hand

The closest people safeguarding your interests are shop stewards and the chief shop steward at your workplace.

They have a key role in monitoring the implementation of collective agreements at workplaces, interpreting the contents of the agreements, conducting negotiations with employers and improving the terms and conditions of employment. Basically, the shop stewards ensure that the rules of working life are adhered to in workplaces.

Together with the shop stewards, JHL's extensive network of local branches have a significant role in supporting JHL members.
