The Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL offers you help and support all through your working life. Here you will find answers to many work-related questions.
JHL safeguards the interests of its members and offers support and help in work-related issues. Through collective bargaining, JHL negotiates and influences issues such as:
- the minimum pay
- working hours
- the entitlement to annual leave and sick leave and
- employment security
JHL concludes collective agreements for the public and private welfare sectors.
JHL also promotes occupational safety and well-being of its members and is involved in drafting and concluding sectoral agreements and recommendations together with the employer organisations. JHL works actively to influence both statutory and agreement-based occupational safety measures.
The cooperation between employees and employers is based on the Act on Co-operation within Undertakings and/or a joint consultation agreement between the employer side and JHL, depending on the industry. Issues discussed concern the operations, development and rearrangement of the workplace, and the position of personnel.
